Afia Weekend Special vol 1
Come experience the vibrant culture from South Africa. We dive into the world of isiPantsula and Amapiano together with our experienced dance teachers from Johannesburg, South Africa!
This Weekend special is hosted in MALMÖ, Sweden.
On the schedule we have dance workshops, panel talks, performance and a dance jam.
During our open jam we will have a battle preselection, and yes you are reading this right, NO battle but only the preselection. If you pass the preselection you will battle on the 15th of aug at Malmöfestivalens (SWE) dance stage “Fontänen”. There you will meet some of our invited battle guest in a fun conceptual battle starting the Quarterfinals with 1vs1 and ending with a 3vs3 battle in the final.

Saturday 27th of July
10.00-11.00 Beginner: IsiPantsula*
11.30-13.00 Open Level: Amapiano*
13.30-15.00 Intermediate: isiPantsula
15.15- 16.45 Woza Jam and battle preselection*. Supported by local DJ. Music genre: Afrohouse, 3step and amapiano.
Sunday 28th of July

14.00-15.30 Open Level: Amapiano
16.00-17.30 Intermediate: isiPantsula
17.30- 18.15 Artist & Community conversation

We do not accept any cash or swish payment on the day, you will be referred to buying online even if you come drop in.
Explination of Levels:
Beginner – Come as you are. No prior experience needed!
Open Level – The dance teachers will cater for the participants and choosing a level suitable for everyone’s need as much as they can.
Intermediate – Don’t be afraid of this word! This level is here to challenge you in a fun way while still teaching you the foundations of the dance-style. Some dance experience is recommended (however not in the specific styles, just in general!)
