AFIA FESTIVAL is back for the 7th year! Just that this time we have located a bit more south than our usual location in Stockholm, Sweden. We are, for the first time hosting AFIA FESTIVAL in Johannesburg, the home of Pantsula, the country of Amapiano, Bhenga, Kwaito, Gqom, Baccardi, 3-step and Afrotech. A land of so much beautiful culture we could not list it all.
We invite YOU ALL to join us for a 3 day festival where the main purpose of the festival is to meet and exchange within dance and music! We encourage both professionals artists, beginners, spectators, families and just curious ones to come take part of our beautiful program.
At our festival we aim to make everyone feel welcome and find a good way to participate and learn. Therefore, we have so many different activities: Workshops, lectures, panel discussions, performances, battles, parties and probably more to come! We wish for people to dig deeper and understand different perspectives of life, listen to and accept one another.
At Afia Festival we go deep, we go beyond the surface of trends and waves, we want to know why, how and when. Join us on this journey of learning, celebrating, enjoying, connecting and opening up! For us, it’s important to keep it authentic, intimate and respectful so every activity at our program has been thought through and discussed before being brought to reality.
